Catching up!

We here in Smittytown know that we have been falling down on the job the past couple of weeks. Things have been busy to say the least, but we do have something to show for it. We had a fabulous visit with Aunt C and Grandma T which you can see from the photos. Momtown relocated her offices and lived to tell the tale! Little Dude got his first Christmas presents and the holiday business is in full swing at Family House. With so much to tell we are gonna do a couple of posts over the next week to catch everyone up. So keep checking in, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel kids!

First and foremost we had a great visit with the lovely ladies. Little Dude managed to kick both of them at least once and Aunt C even got more comfortable with touching Moms baby belly. All in all we would call that a success. The ladies managed to get in some sight seeing and we all hung out in the evenings. They were even nice to Momtown when she would fall asleep watching movies. That silly Moms!!

It was really great to spend some time together and Grandma T was taking nice walks in the mornings and getting familiar with the neighborhood. She seems to know her way around pretty good now which should come in very handy once the Little Dude arrives and the 'Rents need to catch some shut eye during Grandma's visit.

Phototown:
Just had to post several of these photos that Dadtown took during the visit. There were so many fantastic ones to choose from that it was tough to narrow it down. Big props to Dadtown and his photo skillz yo! The first photo is just of the girls being silly and excited to see each other. The second photo is of Grandma T getting a good swift kick yet again from the Little Dude. The third photo shows the timidness with which Aunt C approached the baby belly at first. (If you look closely in this photo you can also spot one of Momtowns scars from the surgery to remove that pesky cyst that was cramping Little Dude's style early on in the pregnancy.) The final photo is all of us with our "bellies out" which required some effort on their part and none at all on mine:)

We are so happy that they made the trip. Thanks again ladies!!

Little Dude loves the wine country!!

We got out of town for the weekend and had a fantastic time! Team Smitty needed to have a quiet weekend with no cell phones and boy did we get it. We stayed at this place:
We had our own cottage above the main house. (Yeah, it was pretty sweet.) We took a dip in the pool every morning before being served a fantastic freshly prepared breakfast. Dex got his required fireplace time and a new sweater for entertaining this holiday season. We wandered around St. Helena together as a happy family unit and admired all of the artwork and the wonderful fall colors and holiday decor. The Napa Valley wineries really go all out for the season and the drive to dinner on Saturday night was almost as wonderful as dinner itself. Little Dude loves Christmas lights and fancy Napa Valley food!

Here are a couple of photos of the 'rents playing around in the main house and of Dex in his favorite spot. More photos next week after the Grandma T and Aunt C visit!

Take Care everyone!!

Love that turkey hangover!

Yo Peeps,

We here in Smittytown trust that everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We know that we sure did. Aunt L and Uncle J (or Uncle Storm if you will) made the trip to our place to celebrate with us. It was good food, good friends and good times as you might expect!

We have posted a couple of photos here for your viewing pleasure. The first photo is all of us as dinner is winding down. As you might note, Moms is the only one with a clean plate. The little dude and her really went to town on the meal. We think that he likes turkey. He definitely likes pie and ice cream that is for sure! The second photo is of Pops with his "leftover sammie" that he put together in an effort to clean his plate. Believe it or not he actually did save that thing and ate it later. Apparently it tastes way better than it looks!

All is going well with Project Baby Incubation. We passed our glucose test and so avoided any finger poking associated with gestational diabetes. Woohoo!! Turns out that Moms needs to get a little more iron though so she is taking an extra pill in the mornings now. Hopefully that will help to give her some energy back. She needs it since the little dude squirms around in her belly on a fairly regular basis. Seriously, what the heck is he doing in there?!

Grandma T and Aunt C will be here for a visit in one week and little dude is very excited to kick them. They are gonna help Pops with some painting in the nursery and hang out with us for a week. It is very exciting times in Smittytown and we are very much looking forward to it.

In closing we would like to ask that everyone send good vibes, thoughts and/or prayers to the just arrived today, Cooper William Keefer. This little guy is going through testing today to look at his wee little heart and the defects they have been watching while awaiting his arrival. We wish him, his parents and his big sis all the best and send them our love!

Babies, babies, babies....awwww yeah!

Just a quick check in and I will post more later in the week.

Spent the weekend working around the house. Had to do a little re-painting sadly because one of the colors just wasn't doin' it for the 'rents. Got it all done though with no problems and now the massive house organization/baby-ening can continue!!

Also got an extra special treat on Sunday when we got to go meet our friend's I & K's new little baby boy. Woohooo!! It was of course totally awesome to see the happy family and hold that sweet little Theo.

KU won 2 basketball games, a football game AND we got to hold a baby. I would say that is a pretty darn good weekend yo!

Rawk Chalk Jayhawks!!

P.S. Check out me and the boys carving pumpkins!

No Cardboard Boxes!

In an effort to make sure that the little dude doesn't have to sleep in a cardboard box (really though, how bad could it be? We'd poke some holes in it so he can breath just fine) we give you the Smittytown USA registries. These links will be permanently added to the sidebar here for easy reference. At each site you just need to look us up by name under the "registries" section.

www.target.com
www.babiesrus.com

Message from the 'Rents:

Regarding the crib and mattress- Due to crazy return policies DO NOT buy us the crib or mattress off of the website. If it shows up to us missing parts or damaged, the store will not take it back. We would have to box it all up and pay for shipping to return it to the website (ridiculous, we know). Instead, If you would like to help us with the purchase of this crib or mattress(please!), just send us gifts cards from Babies R Us and we will use them to go buy the crib locally so they will allow returns/exchanges if necessary. Your only other option would be to order by phone directly from the store closest to us (Colma, CA Babies R Us phone orders number:(650) 449-5106) and they will mark it off of the registry as "purchased". Gift cards may just be the easiest way to go--you can still tell us what you want us to use them for.

Regarding Disney, et. al.- You will note that we are going for the basic items to care for the little dude on these registries. Things like clothes, books, toys and other fun stuff aren't fully represented because we figure that peeps like to pick this out on their own and we totally want to encourage such things. We only ask that people shy away from watered down or overly mass produced characters whenever possible(like a lot of the Disney/Warner Brothers). That said, good design is still good design, and rocket ships and super heroes are always bad ass so have fun and help make sure our little dude is looking good while not looking like every other kid in play group.

Things went great with the room painting this past weekend. M & H both made it and brought their boys along. Kent, M & H knocked out all of the painting while the boys and I carved pumpkins and went to the zoo. Somehow I think that I got the better part of the deal on this one because the zoo was awesome. They even had trick or treat stations, haunted houses, and extra animals out for the kids to touch. SF Zoo is super sweet on Halloween! The room looks great and we are still trying to think of ways to thank M & H for spending a full day with us and working so hard on our place. Man do they rock!!

This weekend Kent has class both days so it looks like little dude and I will be spending some quality time together. Time for a mani/pedi me thinks!

Luv ya!

Little Dude's Fancy Carrying Case

'Sup Peeps!

Here ya go. A couple of photos, as requested by my adoring fans. No autographs please.

How to make sure I post more photos: A cautionary tale in two parts.

Act One: Where you refrain from making remarks such as...
"What are you having twins or something?!"
"Wow, you are SO big!"
"You are definitely eating for two now."
and my personal favorite...
"My friend was way smaller then you when she was at this point in her pregnancy."

Act Two: Where you lie if you must.
In order to avoid the aforementioned blunders please feel free to lay it on thick.
"You are so thin!"
"Wait, are you even pregnant? Gee, I hadn't noticed"
"You are glowing!"
and my personal favorite...
"You are just the cutest preggers I have ever seen!"

In all seriousness, the remarks in Act One are actual quotes said to my face. Some I have even had the sad pleasure of hearing more then once. Now, there is no reason to get all sappy and feel sorry for me or anything, but let's not kick a girl while she is down a'ight.

All is well with Little Dude. We are getting ready to paint our bedroom this weekend and might even be lucky enough to get to see M & H out of the deal. Woohooo! Well, when I say "we" I mean Kent, and M &H will be painting the room with the sweet No VOC paint that we got. Right on! I will be working on other projects out of the paint area.

Let's get this party started!

Yo Peeps!
The little dude wanted you to see this sweet/creepy photo of him. This was taken at our most recent appointment on October 9th. We were able to confirm that the little dude is in fact a dude. His Pops did a dance of joy that made the techs and doctors very happy.

Everything else with the scan was perfect. He is about a week ahead on size still so we will keep an eye out and see if he keeps up that pace. So far, he still gets the "good eater" award. We looked at his brain and his heart and everything is a-okay. All of the bloodwork was so good from the first round of screening that they didn't even have to take any this time which made Mom happy.

So all is well here in SmittyTown. We are running errands and doing lots of projects around the house. While we were out and about over the weekend, we even got to make our first visit with R & L's new baby girl. She is awesome!

Hope that everyone is doing well and we'll post more about our adventures and more photos soon. (yes, photos of me will be included as requested Aunt C.)

Luvin!
